San Juan de Orcas
Once again, we’re pleased to be working with our key partner Food for the Hungry to develop and launch a new project, in the community of San Juan de Orcas.
The Goal: raise $12,128 in funds to develop a new water pumping and purification system, which will be powered by a renewable energy solution provided by Pidola. As with our Bolivia con Agua campaign, we’re working to support rural & underserved communities in Bolivia to ensure access to clean and sustainable water sources.
Target Location: San Juan de Orcas, Chuquisaca. 162 families will benefit from this project.
Mission Alignment: this project aligns well with Pidola’s mission as it will provide consistent and clean energy to power the necessary water pumps and purification system.
Overview: every year, the families of the community suffer from water shortages, especially during the months from July to December. Because of this situation, the families do not have access to permanent water in their homes. This in turn affects the health of the community inhabitants, specifically the children, as well as the general quality of life within the community.
Improved permanent access to water and hygiene for families helps everyone towards a more dignified and healthier life.
